I Let Go

There is a muscle relaxation technique
where you tense up your whole body
from top to bottom
hold it really tight
as long as you can
and then let go

I’ve just realized
I’ve been practicing the first step
for years
keeping myself in the tense state
nonstop

Dreams
goals
wants
needs

Clinging
grabbing
holding
squeezing

I think
I forgot
that there was supposed to be
a second step

I think
I forgot
to relax

For years

I am doing it now
I am letting go

Of all of it

Ambitions
dreams
goals
plans

Expectations
demands
preferences
desires

I am letting go

Relaxing

“Unclenching” my muscles

Breathing

Being

I think
I’ve just found
long
gone
peace
